As always, I digress. This year, on Fox, we have a very fine example of what women's television is, Molly McButter, oh, I mean Ally McBeal.
Naturally, I am being facetious. The first time I saw AMcB, I hated it so much I thought I must be PMSing. It was atrocious. I mean, first off, a lawyer with a roommate? We all know how much lawyers make, even ones right out of school. Any lawyer could certainly afford to live in it's own apartment. Second, AMcB is impossibly cute, dare I say pixy-ish? Yet she is unable to get a date. What hope is there for the rest of us? AMcB is constantly running around in the shortest tightest skirts -- I can only imagine that she shares her wardrobe with the Smelrose Place vixens, wears high heels, pouts, has money, and she can't get laid? Geez!
While watching a subsequent show, I discovered the reason for her lack of attention from the opposite sex: she's insane. Apparently, this character goes around punching people out for no reason. This too seems very likely. She's about 5'1", 67 lbs., and she picks fights with people?
Another bizarre aspect of this show is the fact that not only do the men talk to each other, but they talk to each other about their feelings. The men involved in this show must have gotten a good laugh over that one. What planet does this show take place? Earth Prime (a little comic-book humor)?
Then there's the issue of how the hell this stupid ass bitch got into law school, let alone got out and got a job. It seems so ridiculously impossible that I cannot even begin to fathom the depths of this convoluted lie. Or maybe law school is much easier now. Any way you slice it, this piece is D-U-M. Don't make me sight examples, because we'll be here 'til xmas '99.
Do I have to say it? AMcB is an insult to all women, even those of us stupid enough to watch tv. This show is so dumb it ought to be on ABC.
